There are a lot of frustrations surrounding political campaigns, politicians, and the entire political process. It is a sad recurring cycle that those running for office make a lot of promises that we never see follow-through on. Indeed, there are a lot of factors that play into this happening, but we believe that sharing our values with constituents allows transparency with our community.
Our campaign is an inclusive space for all. This includes, but is not limited to, BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ community, women, immigrants, First Nations peoples, and those of all economic backgrounds.
In addition to our inclusivity value, safety is of the up-most importance. Physical, mental, and emotional safety is taken into account with every action we take.
We are driven to achieve equity for all people, specifically those in communities marginalized and systemically underserved populations.
We will always strive to be our most honest, authentic selves. In order to best serve District 89, we need to be transparent at all times.
The darkest parts of our history are a result of “othering” people and not listening to those who experience, think about, or view the world differently than us. In order to heal and move forward as a more progressive, equitable society, we must remain open-minded and educate ourselves on the experiences of our neighbors.
Compassion should extend to all people, beings, and the environment.
As we collectively navigate through these ever challenging times, sustainability is to remain central to our work and vision for change.
